      • Adult volunteers are needed to make this year’s VBS a success. This year’s theme is “A Wilderness Adventure Through The Sacraments” designed to help children better understand the Sacraments. Children three years of age through 5th grade are invited to gather on June 7, 14, 21, and 28, from 6:00-8:30pm for music, crafts, games and more. Each night stands alone—so come to one or all four dates. Dinner will be included each evening. June 28th we will host a “family night” for all friends and family to enjoy a pitch in dinner. Registrations will be available in the coming weeks in the bulletin, website, and via US mail. Interested volunteers are asked to contact Janet at 952-2853 as soon as possible.
      • Are you someone who enjoys continuing to learn and grow in your Catholic faith? Do you find yourself considering situations from daily life (local news, TV programs, etc.) in light of the teaching of the Church? Is sharing your faith an important part of who you are as a Catholic Christian? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you may be just the kind of person we’re looking for to be part of a new RCIA Team. The role of RCIA Team members is not to act as teachers, but to be witnesses and companions on the journey for people who are investigating the Catholic Church as part of their own faith journeys. This is not a weekly commitment, and training will be provided. Call or e-mail Susan to discuss whether ministry as an RCIA Team member may be where you are being called to serve. Call 952-2853, or e-mail: sisaacs@insightbb.com.

    • Prayer for a New Bishop
Bishop Coyne has requested that all in the archdiocese pray for Pope Benedict as he discerns who will be our new Archbishop. Bishop Coyne has specifically requested that we pray the Prayer from the Roman Missal for the Election of a Pope or a Bishop. The prayer is as follows:

      O, God,  eternal shepherd
Who govern your flock with unfailing care.
Grant in your boundless fatherly love a pastor for your Church
Who will please you by his holiness and to us show watchful care.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son who lives and reigns with
you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
